Hristian Todorov is 3 years old, form Mejden. He suffers form Cerebral Palsy – spastic diplegy. Hristian has physical disorders but his intellectual and speech abilities are almost intact. Melani Prodanova Melanie is 10 years old and lives in Sofia. She is blind and has Cerebral Palsy, severe quadriplegia. Her mother applied for financial grant for the purchase of a wheel chair with different support appliances (they still use a baby-carriage). The fund approved the maximum amount of 2,500 BGN to be granted for the purchase of a specialized wheel chair. The utilized amount is 2,466.58 BGN. April

Bojidar Spasov is one year and two months old. When he was four months old the doctors found out he had Acute Spastic Cerebral Palsy. AT present the kid cannot move by himself – he cannot sit, crawl, speak of feed himself. Bojidar needs monthly rehab and the National insurance Institute pays only part of the expenses. Joana Jordanova is 2 years old and lives in Novi Iskar. In addition to the CP she has many other diseases. At this stage her mother has decided to focus on the kid rehabilitation in order the girl to become more independent. Later on the mother will try to collect the money necessary for the operations of her daughter’s eyes. The fund granted the child the amount of 2,500 BGN for rehabilitation in “Saint Sofia” Hospital. Spas Kerkenezov was born in 1992 in Sofia. He has inborn hydrocephaly and cerebral palsy, caused by the complications during the birth. The doctors started treating his Cerebral palsy and when he was 9 months old they found out he had dislocated right limb which was evidently shorter than the other one. In order the kid’s condition to be improved and stabilized he needs daily rehab and hyperbaric treatment in the clinic for children with CP. The hyperbaric oxygen treatment develops the sight, the speech, the ears and mostly the motor abilities of Spas. PROtegni raka granted 2,500 BGN for the treatment needed. April

Dimitrina Radeva is 9 years old and lives in Troyanovo. She suffers form Cerebral palsy – spastic and ataxic. Because of the disease Dimitrina’s movement is pretty hard. At present she can stand up by herself but not quite stable and can make a few steps by herself. The child’s condition improves after rehabilitation is the specialized clinic. PROtegni raka granted 392 BGN for specialized kinesitherapy. April

Silvera Dimitrova was born in 1989 in Sofia. She started her life in an isolette (warmer). She started having seizures after having a vaccine which repeat ever since. When she was 4 she was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy. Silvera is mentally retarded and has serious motor disorders. She cannot be moves unless there is a companion and only in a wheel chair. The kid needs hydro massage bath which would reduce the expenses for rehabilitation. The fund PROtegni raka granted 1,349 BGN for the purchase of the bath. May

Todor Borislavov is 20 days old, form Gabrovo. He was born with myelomeningocele and later on developed hydrocephaly interna. He had a surgery for closing the backbone deffect, but Toshko needs a second, very urgent surgery for insertion of liquodrainage (outlet) shunt in order he to be able to live. The fund granted the amount of 2,500 BGN. The surgery was successful. May

Alexander Penev изследване.is 3 years old. From Sofia. When he was one year and 9 months old he was diagnosed with progressive muscle dystrophy (Dichene’s disease). The disease is caused by faults in the genes and is characterized by weakening or loss of muscle reflexes – after sometime the diseased become absolutely immobile. Alexander needs a second genetic test in order to have a chance for treatment. The fund decided to provide 2,400 BGN for the required tests. May

Kader Alexieva is 13 months old, from Razgrad. The girl was born with equinovarus deformation of the right foot (clubfoot). When she was 3 months old she had a surgery for the extension of the Achilles tendon. After the surgery the right leg of the kid was put in plaster. The girl was prescribed to wear orthopedic shoes until becoming 4 years old. The fund PROtegni raka granted 300 BGN for the purchase of a pair of orthopedic shoes for the little Kader. May

Vassil Nikolov is 4 years old from Godech. After complications during the birth the kid is mentally and physically retarded in his development. The diagnosis is – Cerebral Palsy, spastic diplegy. Vassil cannot speak and it is hard for him to move. He has had a specialized rehabilitation for the past year and there is improvement of his motor skills after the rehab. PROtehni raka provided funds in the amount of 2,420 BGN for individual speech therapy, individual psychological diagnostics, psychotherapy, specialized kinesitherpay and electro stimulations. May

Hristo Gizdov was born on 15.02.2002 and comes form the village of Resilovo. He suffers from internal and external hydrocephaly. He was born absolutely immobile, he cannot speak and his only reaction is cry. He was transplanted stem cells in 2006 as there is going to be a new surgery in September. Hristo’s mother share she notices some slight motions after the first surgery – the kidt started smiling and to put out hands. The fund provided a grant for the purchase of a shunt. May

Georgi Metodiev from Sofia is 1 year old. When he was 10 months old he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy – hemiparesis. Fortunately, his case is not very severe and the continuous courses of physiotherapy give excellent results. However, the clinical pathways covering the rehabilitation procedures are insufficient and the hospital often refuses to accept the child. Georgi’s mother who cares for her two children alone cannot afford paid procedures. Fund will provide BGN 1000 for rehabilitation of Georgi. May

Kristian Natev is the forth kid of Gabriela and Srebrin Natev. It developed an acute toxic-inflammation syndrome. He was taken to the infectious disease clinic in a very poor health condition and he was diagnosed with Acute Haemophilus Meningitis after having a lumbar puncture accompanies with Jackson type of seizures. After a severe deterioration of the child’s condition in early March the kid was transferred by emergency in the Neurosurgical clinic for surgical treatment of empyema. After the surgery he was once again transferred o the infectious disease clinic with Multi-lobar pneumonia, post meningitis purulenta et empyema , with hydrocephalic configuration of the head. Due to the disease Kristian cannot move. In order his condition to improve and permanent damages of his brain to be avoided a surgical insertion of shunt is needed. Sabri Resul Ali was born in 2001 in Plovdiv. When he was 2 he stopped talking because he suffered extreme stress. In 2005 he got epileptic seizures and wad diagnosed with epilepsy. He got toxic hepatitis and absence (higher eyelashes) from the medicine he was prescribed. Now he has to take Suxilep, and he needs to see а speech therapist in order his recovery to be better. June

Karina was born on 2nd May 1991. She has severe Cerebral Palsy, 100 % disability. The kid is stone-still and her vertebral column is bent. She needs a new bed with special sections about the head and the legs. June
