Ivanka Sarvanska is 4 years old living in Plovdiv. After her birth the doctors have found Down’s syndrome and child cerebral paralysis. Her mental and motive development is retarded but the started rehabilitation gives results and the girl makes the first steps. Her mother’s resources are not enough for additional rehabilitation and new course of treatment with medications, which would improve the child’s condition even more, that is why she asks for help from the fund.
Cvetelina Malcheva Malcheva is 2 years old and suffers from a very rare neurological disease “Angelman Syndrome”. The disease leads to intellectual and physical falling behind and speech defects. At the moment her intellectual development is for 1 year old. She can speak only definite words. “Protegni raka” granted resources for procedures to the amount of 1000 leva, which helps improving Cveti’s condition.
Veselin Rachev is 15 years old from Gabrovo. In December 2007 he goes out to play in the snow, where he falls very seriously. As a result it is found out that he has a lumbar vertebra (L3) broken in two. In the beginning of March 2008, during a surgery in neuro-surgery section MOBAL “Dr. Stefan Cherkezov” in Veliko Tarnovo, an implant- titan stabilizing system RECO- is put. “Protegni raka” granted 2500 leva for the buying of the implant.
Kristiana Petrova is a child only seven months old, but sick with a hard disease. Hematoma in the brain has been found, a surgery is done, after which the child feels better, but in order to live a normal life a surgical implantation of a valve liquor-draining system is needed. Alisa Zumeri was born in the beginning of March, 2007, with a diagnosis specific disorder in the development of the motive function as a result of being prematurely born. She was pointed for treatment in the Neonatology clinic for a breathing reanimation. At the moment Alisa is almost 1 year old and her condition is stabilized, she has even put on some kilograms for the last couple of months. It is difficult for her to move her limbs and cannot turn by herself. Alisa however is a cheerful child and tries to move and even walk all the time, but the doctor’s judgement is that this should not happen because there is a risc of crooking her limbs. “Protegni raka” is engaged to pay for the rehabilitation in “Medical center for Child Neuro Habilitation”.
Nikola Sarhachev is 3 years old child suffering from Child Cerebral Paralysis. In spite of the hard diagnosis Nikola is a sociable child who tries in every way to move and to be a part of the real life. After it is found out during the therapies that injecting Botox in his left arm and leg has good influence on the child’s muscles, the parents asked “Protegni raka” for help for the buying of Botox, which will provide increased tonus of the movements of the limbs at least for the next 6 months. “Protegni raka” will help also for a part of the procedures which are not due to the Health Department.
Sofia Stoynova was born in 2001. When she is 4 years old, eyes trouble is found with a diagnosis Hypertrophia, Amblyopia, Strabismus and long sight. She has a decreased vision in both eyes. After repeated examinations in different Medic centers her mother decides to take her Moscow, Russia, in Microsurgery Glaza, because they guarantee to 30-40% rehabilitation of the vision there. Sofia goes to a kindergarten for talented children. “Protegni raka” grants 2500 leva for Sofia’s eyes treatment- electro, magnetic and photo stimulations.
Ismail Ismailov is 14 years old, suffering from Anaplastic Astrocitoma – brain tumour. In March he enters “St. Ivan Rilski” hospital, complaining of “influenza” and headache. After the examinations the present diagnosis is given. “Protegni raka” helps Ismail for the second time, and the resources to the amount of 2500, granted by the fund are for the buying of a lifesaving liquor draining valve.
Ivan is 4 years old from Konare village, Stara Zagora. After his 8th month birth he is put in an infant incubator for 7 days. The diagnosis is Child Cerebral Paraysis and is given when he is 3 in MC Children health. Ivan visits a rehabilitation center in Asenovets village. There is a pedagogue in the center who works with children all day, like in a kindergarten. There Ivan visits logopedist, psychologist and rehabilitations. His doctor directs his parents to a clinic in Russia for a surgery. “Protegni raka” helped partially the treatment of Ivan there.
